Alison has been an artist on and off since she learned how to hold a pencil. She picked up her first Tarot deck at age 12 and has been a self-proclaimed geek who's loved games, superheroes, fantasy and science-fiction for most of her life. Fairies arrived in her life at age 19, and were the last element to define her identity.
At age 17, Alison took on the challenging project of designing her own Greek Mythology Tarot deck as part of a self-directed art study in Secondary School. At age 20, Alison was hired as a professional Tarot reader at Lobelia's Lair in Nanaimo, BC which helped fund her way through university until she completed a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology and Anthropology in 2008.
In 2010, inspired by her fascination with folklore and fairy art, Alison began marketing herself as a digital fantasy artist under the studio name, Ethereal Earth. Her business and art portfolio continue to grow every year. In 2015, Ali was finally able to open a studio in Sidney, BC where she can offer enchanting experiences through both her artwork and her intuitive Tarot readings and consultations. The only element that was missing in her practice was her geek side.
Struggling to reconcile her interest in Tarot with her love of science and nerdy pastimes, always feeling that she was part of two tribes that would never cross paths, Alison had a sudden stroke of insight and launched Tarot Geeks in 2017. She is now traveling to comic-cons around Western Canada bridging the gap between geeks and gurus through her clever mix of pop-culture and Tarot.
